Take a Natural Approach to Shingles

When watching the T.V. Commercials for the drugs used to fight the Shingles virus, I can’t help but wonder, why aren’t the natural remedies talked about more? There are natural ways to address Shingles and with the help of a certified natural health care provider you can see a reduction in symptoms. Below I will discuss the natural ways to help the body heal itself of Shingles.

Before we get into the natural ways Shingles can be addressed, let’s look at what the TV commercials talk about. The commercials regarding Shingles talk about a drug you can take that helps with the rash and pain. There is also, an association with the Chickenpox virus and Shingles. While this may be a consideration as to why some get this virus there is another reason to also consider.

When there is nerve stress and a lack of Vitamin B Complex in the body, irritating nerve acids are produced. As these nerve acids are thrown off by the nerves, they try to nourish themselves on normal blood sugar of the blood. Without the proper vitamins the nerves can’t properly get the nourishment they need and the acids are formed. This is why you see the painful skin eruptions following the nerve branches under the skin.

Try these aids to help the body heal itself of this virus. These are helpful and cost effective because you can easily get them from your health care provider or at the health food store.

1. Take Rice Bran, Brewer’s Yeast or a plant based B-Complex vitamin supplement to nourish the nerves and reduce the acid that is being produced. Be sure to drink plenty of water. Follow the manufacturer’s directions for taking these products. Take regularly for at least 3 to 4 times per day.

2. Prepare the following herbs as a tea to drink 1 cup 3 times per day. You can pick one of these three herbs to drink or you can drink them in combination. Burdock, Yellow Dock or Red Clover herb teas are helpful with the symptoms of this virus.

3. Astragalus is an excellent herb to take when you are addressing viral issues. Drink 1 cup 3 times a day.

4. Keep the skin moist with the teas mentioned above either by soaking a cheescloth in the teas and laying the cloth over the infected area or if the area is too sensitive use a misting spray bottle to lightly spray the area and keep it moist.

5. Use Vitamin E oil on the area as well as and use the same method as listed above.

6. During this time avoid all acid foods such as citrus fruits and their juices, regular or diet soda, coffee, white processed sugar and flour, fast or fried foods.

7. Be sure to keep the bowels open which helps the body to eliminate excess acid.

8. Drink plenty of green drinks which is simply juice from green leafy vegetables.

9. Increase your water intake to also help the body eliminate excess acid.

Keep the tips and use them as aids on a daily basis to help the body rid itself of irritating nerve acids and the shingles virus.
