Diet to Prevent Fungal Infections?

It seems like I regularly get fungal infections on the roof of my mouth, also having problems in the hot area we live with foot and pubic area fungi.

Can you recommend a diet for that?

Thanks

David

Sep 23, 2010 Probiotics will help

Hi David,

I’m not sure there is any diet alone that would take care of fungal infections, but if you are willing to add probiotics, that is friendly bacteria, to your diet, they would probably do the trick.

I’ve written about that extensively on the digestive health pages of effective healthsupplements.com. What it amounts to is if you have enough friendly bacteria living in those mucous membranes, there won’t be any room for the fungus to live.

I hope this helps.

Some people are more likely than others to get fungal infections. It could be because they have another disease or are taking medication that has weakened the immune system. This means your body is less able to fight ofinfections and so the fungal infections are able to get a hold.

Eating food that are nutrient rich ie vitamins, minerals etc may help with the condition.

Try to ensure your diet includes high qualityprotein, such as that found in eggs, fish, shellfish, and venison. Many vegetables and grains are also excellent sources of many of immune-stimulating amino acids and, together with other protein sources, these are particularly beneficial.
