Change your Patterns

I’ll tell you, it was HARD, but the secret is to just draw the line and tough it out and do not let yourself smoke “just one”. The worst of the physical addiction is over in a week, but mental addiction takes quite awhile longer.

Hints: Change your¬†patterns…if you’re used to smoking right after eating, when you take your last bite, jump up and start doing the dishes. Try to stay away from places where others are smoking. Practice breathing like you do when you’re smoking, to help calm yourself. I used to use a big pretzel like a cigar, and breathe in and let the breath out slowly just as if I were smoking, as I drove down the highway. It helped.
